Latest Updates from Our Project:

Update #8. Big plans are coming.
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Jun 15, 2024 at 11:57:54 AM

Hello everyone!

I wanted to make a post to keep you guys in the loop of whats going on.

From what my Judy over at Nice Funny Games has said

"Hi Max/Mark, our bulk games is expected to arrive in 7 days, after which we are waiting for the container to be unpacked and arranged for delivery."

She sent me this a few days ago and it has me so excited to get these games in your hands. Here's some pics from the warehouse for people who have not seen them.

We will be at Gencon!

That's right! I remember last year where we were in the first exposure playtest hall showing of the game to generous playtesters.

The game has come further since then and thanks to my copublisher, Dragon Egg Games, we have booth!

Since there are multiple designers working with Dragon Egg Games,  I have time slots to show off City of Myrkesh at:

Friday 2pm-6pm

Saturday 2pm-6pm

We will have copies to sell. I am just trying to line up events with Quartermaster Logistics receiving the games and shipping a certain amount of copies to me in time for the convention.

The 2nd Monster

Lastly, I should have the files ready for the 2nd Monster 3D Print and Play, the Intellect Hoarder Gargantua soon. I will be making a Google drive folder and sharing it with all the backers who pledged at the 75$ tier and above.

Still ironing out the rules for them, but its getting really close.

Hope to see you guys at Gencon!

Update #7. The Games are on the boat!
almost 2 years ago – Mon, May 13, 2024 at 07:53:16 AM

Hey Everyone!

Its official! The games have been sent out from Nice Funny Games and are on the boat to Quartermaster Logistics! Woo hooo! As a I had mentioned in the last post, it will take 30 to 45 days to get from China to the States.

So with that in mind, I wanted to address our estimated timeline that we posted on our campaign page.

We had a few hurdles to pass during production as well as setting everything up with quartermaster logistics, so that resulted in us being behind schedule compared to our initial estimates. I want to apologize for that. We appreciate everyone's patience as we do our best to get this game into your hands.

Speaking from my experience, this is my first campaign project that I have worked to fulfil. I have been backing campaigns for over 10 years now. Max (My co-publisher over at Dragon Egg Games) has been a fantastic co-publisher and helped guide this project to the state you see it now. My goal would be to create and fulfill more campaigns in the future if City of Myrkesh creates a community around itself. Create expansions or even other entirely new games. I have so many card ideas and monster ideas for expansions, but I had to limit myself so the project was manageable.

Here are some pictures of the palettes that Judy sent me before she sent on the boat.

I have never been this excited about seeing boxes on pallets before until now (I used to work at a warehouse).

Backerkit Reminder

For anyone who has not filled out their shipping information and paid for shipping, this is your reminder to do that. We still have about a month and some change before the games make it to the states, but the sooner you could fill out the survey, the better.

Shout out to the Deep Regrets Kickstarter Prelaunch

Before I go, I wanted to give a shout out to another campaign I have been following and plan to back when it goes live

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tettix/deep-regrets-an-unfortunate-fishing-game

A game about reeling progressively more horrifying things out of the depths, managing your madness and pushing your luck at sea.

Something I really admire about this designer is that he illustrated the entire game. If your someone who really likes spooky looking sea creatures, give his campaign a follow! There are even some nautical themed components he has been posting on his facebook page, I will link it below.

Update #6. The last of the Manufacturing pictures and backerkits have been sent
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Apr 29, 2024 at 07:56:15 AM

Hey everyone!

Its been something else to see this game come to life. I feel like a kiddy child on Christmas when I receive more update pictures from Judy of Nice Funny Games. I try to get them to your eyes as soon as I can. Here we have some images of the final components and getting the front arc (red) and back arc (black) lines on the hydra bases.

The reason it is important to mark the front and back arc lines is due to this rule of the game:

I did a draw over to better show. So if a player buys either the Connoisseur of Secrets, Spice Purveyor or Revered Cavalier, since they are currently in the front arc of the monster, immediately after that purchase is resolved, Rubble is placed in that District. This represents the monster seeing a district unprotected and seeing the opportunity to cause destruction. If you see a red rubble icon next to the card you buy and your piece is within the red marks of the miniatures base, Rubble.  If you see a red rubble icon next to the card you buy and your piece is within the black lines of the miniatures base, your fine and can continue your turn.

Backer Kits have gone out

I ask that backers please check their emails and fill out their backer kit information. This will ensure that we can get everyone's game to them after Quartermaster Logistics receives them.

Last of the Pictures before we ship

I wanted to share a series of photos that looks like an unboxing of the game. Judy sent them to me this morning and my excitement is overflowing.

If I could do it over again, I would definitely tell my past self to make a smaller first game. But I had a vision and I wanted to see it through.

Update #5. City of Myrkesh is being produced and we got videos of it!
almost 2 years ago – Tue, Apr 23, 2024 at 09:27:35 AM

Hello everyone!

I want to be transparent you to the best of my abilities. I have grown a little envious of some of my fellow designers and how they lay their kickstarter updates. How unique and personal they get in their updates. As someone who has enjoyed the board game hobby for over 10 years, I really want to convey my passion for this community. It is with great excitement that I may now present City of Myrkesh in its manufacturing state.

Thanks to Judy over at Nice Funny Games, I have been able to get a behind the scene peek at how they produce their games. Let me share some videos with you.

All of the Hydra Miniatures being assembled

Tokens being printed

Cards being printed

Box Tops being printed

Box Bottoms being printed

And lastly, each Hydra will receive some foam cushioning so we can minimize any issues in transit.

From what Judy has stated:

  • Production for the 500 Units should be done this coming Sunday the 28th
  • Once the pallets have been sent to shipping, it will take 45 days to get them from Nice Funny Games (Guangdong, China) to Quartermaster Logistics (Orlando Florida).

I want to apologize for not getting the backerkit out to everyone sooner. Once we have everyone's shipping addresses, we will be able to get the most accurate shipping rate depending on the region you live in. I have a call with my Co-publisher today to make sure that we have everything properly set up for that.

O one more thing

Seeing that the miniature will be cast in a light grey, we decided to use red and black lines to denote the front and back arc of the monster and white for the words on each side.

My wife has told me that the insert where the monster sits looks like a frog. I am not going to say it doesn't.

Everyone please keep an eye out in your emails as we will be sending out the backerkit surveys sometime this week. This will be crucial in getting your game pledge to you.

Update #4. I have a manufacturer sample and we are almost ready to send out the backer kit for shipping addresses
about 2 years ago – Sat, Mar 30, 2024 at 04:21:50 PM

Hey everyone

I hope everything has been well. I have been particularly busy with the game, work & life. I try to get these updates out to you in a timely manner. Let's start with the first update

We have the Manufacturer Sample!

This is the first time I have been able to see the board extended so the merchant's row and industrial grounds outer city cards are not coming off the board. I am also joyful in seeing all the tokens and game components in punch board, feels so much more official.

The second update involves me speaking with Judy from Nice Funny Games (our manufacturer) on how we can optimize the plastic insert for the game. I want to make sure everything fits well. I even want to make sure that the cards will fit in the box if the player sleeves them. I have been sending draw over images daily to make sure we can achieve the best plastic insert for you guys.

Lastly, We are still finalizing the most accurate shipping prices between both our manufacturer (Tiny Fun Games) and our distributor (Quartermaster Logistics) before we send out the backerkit.

Its coming up and I appreciate everyone patience regarding it. I cannot wait to get this out to the players hands.
